What types of rooms does your hotel have?

We offer Suites, Superior Rooms, Deluxe Rooms, and Standard Rooms.

How many people can stay in a room?

Our Suites, Superior Rooms, and Standard Rooms have a 4-person capacity. Our Deluxe Rooms have a 2-person capacity.

Do the rooms have kitchens?

Our Suites and Deluxe Rooms all offer full kitchens (fridge, stove, sink, and microwave) with dishes and cookware. Our Standard Rooms offer a kitchenette (fridge, microwave, and dishes). Our Superior rooms have both kitchen or kitchenette options.

Do the rooms have fridges?

Yes, all rooms have a fridge which you are free to use.

Do you have a restaurant?

No, we do not have a restaurant. You can contact us at any time for recommendations.

Do you have a bar?

All rooms have a well-stocked mini-bar, but we do not have an onsite bar/restaurant. You can contact us (SMS/Email/WhatsApp) at any time for recommendations.

Do you have a spa?

No, we do not have a spa.

Do you have ice?

We have an ice machine in the towel room next to the pool.

Are your rooms accessible / ADA compliant?

Our hotel was built in 1948 long before accessibility was mandated in property construction. As such, our property does not have the level of accessibility you might find at a newer hotel. We have attempted to maximize accessibility given the structural limitations, including: A van accessible parking spot Numerous “Deluxe” rooms can be accessed from the parking lot without any steps, however please note that all rooms have a 1-2 inch entry threshold. We have a portable threshold ramp available upon request to address this. All rooms have smooth floors, with no carpets All entry door widths are 32-36 inches wide Furniture and rugs arranged to provide open floor plan with maneuverability All accessible rooms have showers with large (>32”) flat entries All rooms have low bathroom towel shelves Service animals are allowed in all rooms at no additional charge If you have special needs or questions please advise us on your check-in form, or by contacting us any time before or during your stay.

Booking Process Questions

How do I book a room?

Online through our website, www.thecactai.com, is the cheapest and fastest way to book a room.

Do you charge a resort fee?

No, our room fee includes the price of the room plus self-parking for one vehicle per room, Wi-Fi, and access to our outdoor activity areas (including pool and mini putt).

Can I cancel my reservation?

For information on cancellation policies and refunds, please check your confirmation email and/or the website you used to book your reservation. We generally offer free cancellation until 24 hours before your check-in, but exclusions and restrictions may apply depending on the time of year and booking platform.

Why do I have to give you my mobile phone to book a room?

We use text messages for our digital check-in/out experience and to interact with guests. You can text us with any questions or requests prior to or during your stay.

What if I don't want to receive SMS text messages?

Simply reply to any message and let us know your communication preference. We offer SMS, WhatsApp, or email for all communications.

Do texts cost money?

Your standard SMS text messaging charges will apply to all texts with us. We don't charge anything extra.

Do you offer weekly rates?

Yes, although some exclusions may apply depending on the time of year. You can find our current best rates on our website www.thecactai.com.

Do you offer monthly rates?

No, we do not allow monthly reservations.

How do I contact you?

You can contact us 24/7 via text message (1-760-656-6085), WhatsApp (1-760-656-6085) if you’re from outside the US, or email (monty@thecactai.com) if you still have a Blackberry.

Can children stay at The Cactai?

We are an “adults only” resort. All guests and visitors must be 21 or older.

Where do I check-in?

We are a fully digital property and provide a digital check-in experience. Contact us anytime after making your reservation to get your check-in started. Once your digital check-in is completed, you will receive a custom door code at check-in time.

Can I check in early?

Can I check out late?

Contact us and we'll do our best to provide late check-out options.

How do I check out?

Contact us and let us know you're leaving. You will automatically receive a copy of your final invoice once your room charges are finalized.

Do you have Wi-Fi?

Yes, Wi-Fi is included in your room fee. Wi-Fi connection information is located on the welcome card inside your room, or can contact us to get the connection information.

Do you offer room service?

Sorry, we do not offer room service. There are many excellent local restaurants that deliver using your favorite delivery app (Grubhub, Uber Eats, DoorDash, etc.).

Do you have a concierge?

We offer a digital concierge service. You can contact us at any time for recommendations.

Do you have rollaway beds or cribs?

No, sorry we do not.

Can I smoke or vape in my room?

Our rooms are smoke-free. We charge a $250 cleaning fee for smoking or vaping in your room.

What about smoking or vaping on my patio or in the courtyard?

We're a smoke-free property. This includes patios and communal outdoor spaces.

Can people who aren't staying at the hotel use the pool or come to our room?

We are a small boutique property and our guests enjoy the privacy and exclusivity of our amenities. Guests cannot exceed the room capacity for visitors, whether they are sleeping in the room or just visiting the property.

Where can I get coffee?

All rooms have an espresso and drip coffee machine (Nespresso/Keurig pods) that can be found on the kitchen counter.

Do you have a gift shop?

No, sorry we do not have any retail shops on the property.

Where do I park my car?

Self-parking in our lot is included in the room fee. Limit one vehicle per room.

Do you have car charging stations?

No, we don't. But there are multiple options within walking distance if you consult your favorite map app.

Are pets allowed?

We allow well-behaved dogs for an additional fee of $50 per stay. Dogs cannot be left alone in the rooms, and you will be responsible for any damage caused by your dog. No other pets are allowed (cats, hamsters, llamas, etc.).

Do you allow service animals?

Yes, service animals are allowed without any additional fees.
